Transmotec will be accessible and responsive to our customers. We will maintain the highest standards in our business practices.

DC Motors

Transmotec sells brush commutated dc motors and with perhaps the largest range in the world of its types. Our dc motors are built from tin can economic versions up to full-housed ball bearing fine arts motors also available with feedback encoders. Transmotec dc motors have as standard integral electric noise filters.

A brush type DC motor is built around a so-called stator and rotor. The iron core rotor has a stacked metal sheet lamination that carry several copper wire winding poles. The windings are connected to a circular multi segment copper contact point called commutator. The commutator is connected to a carbon brush pair that are respectively connected to the motors plus and minus terminals. The stator consist of normally two spherical permanent magnets that are attached in a radial position to the rotor and attached inside an outer housing of the motor. When a voltage is applied to the electric terminals a current will pass through the winding and an electrical magnet field will be generated between the coils and the permanent magnets. The magnetic field will result in a rotational force that will turn the rotor. When the rotor is rotating the commutator will act as an rotating switch and connect the windings to the brushes creating a synchronously and continuous rotation. The applied voltage will have a directly proportional impact on the motors speed, and the current threw the motor is directly proportional to the torque. DC motors can be applied to an over voltage to achieve higher speed and torque but the rotor coil should not reach the melting point of the rotor wire insulation.

We welcome to tailor or customize your dc motors to meet the requirements specified in your purchase order.

Linear actuators

Transmotec linear actuators are electromechanical components that in difference to our solenoids are used to generate a long stroke under high force but at lower speed. The design consist of a motor and gear train that will rotate a threaded screw with a moving nut attached to a rod. The stroke length is determined by the linear actuators model as well as the speed and force. Our actuators can also be built with potentiometer or hall sensor position feed back.

We welcome to tailor or customize your linear actuator to meet the requirements specified in your purchase order. You are also invited to select from our standard range and we keep many types in stock.

Solenoids

Transmotec offers a vast range off push and pull type solenoids in various configurations and sizes. All our solenoids are in standard delivered with spring for return movement of the plunger. Solenoids are commonly used in applications needing a cost effective electric control of a two position fast mechanical movement. Solenoids are not suitable for positioning drive or with feedback loops.

Solenoids are electromechanical components consisting of a wounded coil that are shaped around a freely moving steel or iron plunger. When the solenoid is connected to a voltage the current will generate a magnetic field which will apply a force on the plunger. The force direction will point to the centre of the solenoid.

The solenoids plunger force is a linear function of the current through the coil but is also strongly depending on the distance of the center of the plunger and the center of the solenoids.

A common method in operating solenoids is to apply it to a higher voltage in relation to its nominal voltage. The solenoids nominal voltage is the voltage upon which the solenoids can be applied continuously with out being over heated. By applying a higher voltage to the solenoids the force will also become higher but the operation time should be less than one minute depending on the voltage level and the duty cycle of the operation.

We welcome to tailor or customize your solenoids to meet the requirements specified in your purchase order. You are also invited to select from our standard range and we keep many types in stock.
